BDA and ERCES stand for “Bi-Directional Antenna” and “Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement System” – These systems are used to provide adequate radio coverage for first responders in the event of an emergency. Many times, buildings are built with materials that make it incredibly hard for RF signals to penetrate. In the event of an emergency, it is paramount that first and emergency responders are able to rely on the communication path of their radios. In the event that the radio signal in a facility does not meet the DAQ (Digital Audio Quality) required, these systems come into play to provide that solution.
An ERCES consists of an antenna on the roof, control equipment, and various antennas throughout the facility to provide the necessary coverage. Many times the need for these systems are not apparent until after a new building has been completed. Premier Safety offers the following services in regards to ERCES.
